Hongkong Trip 2014 - Day 3

Day 3 - Big Buddha  &
Symphony of Lights

Third day of our trip to the wonderful Hongkong, we visited the Tian Tan Buddha in Lantau Island. To get there, we had to take the Ngong Ping 360 Cable car ride.

Terminal for the cable car

Here's me and sis again, ready to seize the day, charr
Our tickets

We were able to get some discount for the Crystal Cabin by the way, courtesy of my sis again ;)

The Big Buddha sitting at the background

That was my first time riding a crystal cabin cable car, which by the way feels like you're floating in the air (not suitable for people who are scared of heights).
The ride itself took around 30 mins to get to the top of Lantau Island.

When we reached the top, we attended the free Tea Ceremony.

I forgot her name na, but she was the one who showed us the traditional way of making tea.

We roamed around and took a couple more pictures of the Ngong Ping Village.

Our faces before climbing the steps towards the Big Buddha

I love this shot :) hahahaha when my sister photobombed an unsuspecting priest.

According to my research, you have to take 368 steps to see
Mr. Buddha chillin at the top. So you guys can imagine the
happiness we felt when we finally reached there.

Hi Mr. Buddha

JUST.LOOK.AT.THAT.VIEW!!

After deciding that we were satisfied with our pictures,
we then proceeded to visit the rest of the Po Lin Monastery.

Here's me attempting to do a jumpshot, but failed miserably.

So much insense besh...
There's even a souvenir shop, but if you're a cheapskate like us,
you will never buy anything from these shops hehehe

Weh? hehehe
After Ngong Ping, we wanted to see the Symphony of Lights in Victoria Harbour. It's a nightly lights show showcasing the amazing lights of the Hongkong Skyline (edi wow). Its named as the "World's Largest Permanent Light & Sound Show"

My camera has a problem with darkness :( so sorry for the blurred images

Clocktower
Lastly, we saw the 1881 Heritage which at that time, was showcasing a very big Christmas Display.

I was actually really trying to aim at someone I deeply hate.. AHAHAHAHA

So that's about it for our 3rd day, 2 more days to go!

Hongkong Trip 2014 - Day 2

Day 2 - Sidetrip to Macau

On the 2nd day of our Hongkong Adventure, we decided to go on a daytrip to Macau via water ferry. We had to grab some breakfast first from Chungking Mansions, where we also exchanged some money for our trip.

When we arrived at the ferry terminal, we had some time to kill before we board so we roamed around the area.

Western Market

My sis showing off her OOTD :)

Me as well :P

Time to board!
I remember we got some discount for our tickets because it was my birthday month. Of course thanks to my sister who arranges everything.

Pacquiao had a match then, he won I think?

The ferry ride was just an hour long trip so its not that long. After immigration, we jumped right into the bus going to the Venetian Macau.

Aaaaaaaand we stayed there for how many hours because WE GOT LOST. We didn't know how to go out, but we had a great time there.

There was a very big Christmas Tree on the center of the casino

Before they created this in the Philippines, I saw it first in the Venetian Macau - the grand canal
Find my sister :P

My "Sakit sa Ulo" (Headache)  pose after we managed to go out of the very very veryyyyy big casino

So we took another bus to the other side of Macau when we finally got out of the Venetian. All casinos (i think?) in Macau have a free shuttle bus to take you to their respective casinos so no need to pay for taxi and everything.

The Macau Tower

Grand Lisboa

Wynn Hotel
There's a carriage there as well :)
We planned to go to that street going to the Ruins of St. Paul where it was rumored that you can get a free taste of everything from Bakwa (Chinese Beef Jerky/Ham) and other food items until you reach the top and feel full without spending a dime.

The Foodstrip !!
My first time tasting Bakwa! It's like bacon and ham merged together! #foodislife
Finally arrived at the top! Ruins of St. Paul

What looks like from the top of the hill

So.... that's about it for our second day.
After that we just went back to the ferry port to catch our trip back to Hongkong.
3rd day will be on my next post. In the meantime you guys can check my post on our first day in HK on the link below, Thanks!
